Fields of Sunflowers are in full bloom!

 

 

 

 

Coperas Creek Road

Great Egrets and Great Blue Herons flew over our heads as we walked down the path beside the canal leading towards Rice Lake.

 

 

 

Great Blue Heron lands briefly and then takes off again.

Doe and Fawn at Comlara Park

A Doe lead her fawn across the road near the boat ramp at Comlara Park in McLean County.

Cooper Park

A wren flew into a hole in a tree at Cooper Park. She has a nest in there. I'm surprised because it is so close to to the boardwalk where joggers, bikers, and dog walkers go by all day long.

Widow Skimmer Dragonfly, unknown Beetle, and a pair of House Wrens at Springdale Savanna in Springdale Cemetery, Peoria, Illinois.

 

 

 

 

Nesting Osprey

Osprey on nest duty. A hawk was in the area, being hounded by the blackbirds and swallows. It made the Osprey very nervous!

 

 

 

 

Owl or Hawk? it flew from one side of the clearing to the other, and the Osprey took off in alarm!
