Anas platyrhynchos (mallard), duck and drake. Mallards can be found almost anywhere in the world. They dominate the Northern Hemisphere, and can be found easly in Oceana, Asia, Africa, South America and many islands. These are two of the many that live at the tiny wetlands at Cooper's Park in East Peoria. A natural warm spring keeps the water on the beaver pond open all winter.
